This project centered on a comprehensive rebrand of the Mood Disorders Association of Manitoba (MDAM), with the goal of creating a more empathetic, accessible, and contemporary visual identity. The process began with an in-depth research phase, including multiple rounds of demographic and psychographic analysis to better understand the diverse audiences MDAM serves. This research highlighted the importance of clarity, trust, and emotional sensitivity in all communications, particularly given the stigma and complexity surrounding mood disorders. Insights gathered during this phase directly informed both the tone and visual direction of the rebrand.
From there, I developed a refreshed brand system that balanced warmth and professionalism, ensuring the organization could communicate effectively across a wide range of touchpoints. The updated identity was extended into a series of animated assets for social media and commercial use, designed to increase engagement while maintaining a calm, supportive tone. Motion was used thoughtfully to guide attention and reinforce messaging without overwhelming the viewer, creating content that felt both approachable and informative.
In addition to digital outputs, the project included a suite of physical print materials such as posters, flyers, and informational pamphlets intended for distribution in clinics and doctors’ offices. These pieces were designed with accessibility and readability at the forefront, ensuring that individuals seeking support could easily navigate the information. Altogether, the rebrand provided MDAM with a cohesive and flexible visual toolkit that strengthens their ability to connect with their community and deliver critical mental health resources across both digital and physical spaces.

This project focused on reimagining the visual expression of Voices Manitoba, a youth services organization, with the goal of creating a more cohesive, engaging, and accessible brand presence. The process began with an initial meeting with the Voices team, where I gained insight into their mission, audience, and the challenges they faced with their existing materials. Through these conversations, it became clear that while their messaging was strong, their visual identity lacked consistency and flexibility across platforms. I conducted further research into youth-centered design, accessibility standards, and comparable organizations to better understand how to visually communicate trust, inclusivity, and energy.
Building on this research, I developed an updated colour palette that felt vibrant and approachable while still maintaining a sense of professionalism. Careful attention was given to contrast and readability to ensure accessibility across both print and digital applications. From there, I created a series of posters and supporting media assets designed to be adaptable and easy for the Voices team to implement. These materials balanced bold typography with their existing imagery, creating a system that could evolve with their needs while maintaining a recognizable visual language.
Overall, the project resulted in a refreshed and unified set of design tools that better reflect Voices Manitoba’s role as a supportive, youth-focused organization. The final deliverables not only enhanced their visual consistency but also provided a foundation for future communications, empowering their team to confidently engage with their audience across multiple platforms.
