Project Goal:
Create a visually engaging annual report for Little Bean Coffee Co. that combines original photography with vintage inspired graphic elements. The goal was to communicate key financial and brand milestones in a way that feels both informative and emotionally resonant, aligning with the company’s warm, community-driven ethos.
Process:
Rooted in the cozy familiarity of local coffee culture, I designed the annual report to feel like a well-loved café menu tactile, nostalgic, and visually rich. The photographs feature real café environments, warm lighting, and textured surfaces to establish a grounded, inviting tone. To complement the photography, I incorporated vintage style graphics: distressed textures and woodcut typography inspired by mid-century diner signage. The layout balances clear data visualization for the investors, with storytelling for the daily regulars, using a modular grid system to organize the information. Each section is anchored by visual cues that echo the brand’s artisanal identity. The palette leans into earthy tones, creams, and sun-faded greens to reinforce the sense of authenticity and warmth.
Reflections:
This project gave me the opportunity to explore the intersection of brand storytelling and functional design. By merging candid photography with retro visual motifs, I was able to reflect Little Bean’s identity in a way that felt both grounded and engaging. The final layout encourages page-turning while maintaining clarity and hierarchy, turning financial data into a branded experience that invites the reader in.
